My Story

I am Brett Davison, a husband, father, physiotherapist and high performance consultant.
After completing a Life Sciences degree from Cape Town University, I embarked on a career in banking in London. However, my calling to help people back to health saw me return to university and complete a BSc in Physiotherapy from Brighton University.
I returned to Cape Town and set up a private practice. At the same time, I became the Head Physiotherapist for the South African rugby sevens team and toured the IRB World Series. After enjoying much success with the ‘Blitz Bokke' I returned to London to join Wasps RFC. While at Wasps, I was asked to join the England rugby sevens team as their physiotherapist. I combined the two roles until England Sevens went full-time and I signed up to become their Lead Physiotherapist and Head of Physical Performance. After 7 years and many medals, I set up ‘The Physio Boutique’ as well as ‘Sports and Physio Consultancy’ and joined the IRB (now World Rugby) to help other nations develop their Rugby Sevens Programs.
In my time as a physio, both in private practice and at the elite sports level, I have noticed the poor quality of tape being made available to physios to care for their patients. Sadly, this is often a factor medical budgets and the drain on budgets caused by the baggage costs associated with travelling with medical supplies.
Over the years, I have made this a priority and have built up key relationships with manufacturers to ensure Strap-Med is able to supply high quality products at affordable prices.
The best testimonial I can give you is that I use these products both at ‘The Physio Boutique’, in working with various UK rugby clubs, amateur gymnastics, hockey and tennis clubs, and in my work with Commonwealth Games, Invictus Games, HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, Cirque du Soleil, Rugby World Cup 2015 and 2019, touring rugby teams from Argentina, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, USA & Israel and British Army Rugby teams and Royal Navy Rugby team.
